Service Center Administrative Assistant

Hooker & Holcombe Inc., New England’s premier regional retirement consulting firm with 65 plus employees, is seeking a full time Service Center Administrative Assistant. Working as a member of our Retirement Services team, the qualified candidate assists with all aspects of pension plan repetitive payment administration while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and energetic with an attitude that will contribute positively to individual and team goals to meet the company’s growing retirement services.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assists with all aspects of pension plan repetitive payment administration.
  • Provides exceptional customer service via written communications with plan participants regarding all aspects of their retirement plans.
  • Assists with researching and resolving participant inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes web portals for benefit payment communications and processing.
  • Performs monthly asset and benefit payment reconciliations.
  • Evaluates and communicates monthly cash flow needs for benefit payments.
  • Supports peers with routine consulting issues regarding plan transactions.

  • Works with team, client and vendors to identify and implement processing efficiencies and problem solve.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred with FINRA exams and licensing a plus.
  • Basic working knowledge of ERISA regulations for DB and DC plans a plus.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrates meticulous accounting skills for reconciling client assets.
  • Demonstrates general knowledge of investments.
  • Possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized and a self-starter.
  • Must have a genuine desire to work in a team environment.
