Administrative Assistant

Hooker & Holcombe, a growing retirement consulting firm located in West Hartford, CT, is seeking a full-time administrative assistant with the willingness to learn about defined benefit outsourcing and benefit election forms preparation. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, versatile, and detail oriented with an attitude that will contribute positively to individual and team goals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support Actuarial Services unit analysts with outsourcing tasks such as logging benefit calculation requests, loading documents into a participant database system, reviewing documents for completeness, scanning documents to PDF, and assisting with participant mailings and other client-related projects.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with preparing benefit calculations.
  • May assist with other administrative duties such as typing letters, benefit election forms packages and reports, and preparing meeting presentations.

  • Work to continually improve client service levels.
  • Work with team to identify and implement processing efficiencies and solve problems.
  • Actively support and contribute to creating a positive work environment through respectful working relationships

Job Requirements

  • Administrative assistant experience preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, reliable and a self-starter.
  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word (including Mail Merges), Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic working knowledge of retirement plan administration is a plus.
  • Must have a genuine desire to work in a team environment.
